Welcome to Faith Conversations with Sarah Rose! Today, I have the privilege of sharing an inspiring interview with Brett Tatum—a man of faith, resilience, and grace. Brett’s story is a testament to how God's plan unfolds through life's ups and downs, and I know you’ll be blessed by his heartfelt journey.

Introducing Brett Tatum

Brett is  living in Decatur, Texas. His life has been a whirlwind of moves across states like Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, and California—each step guided by God's leading, even when he admits he sometimes missed the signs. Married to his wonderful wife Keylie, they’ve built a life centered around faith, family, and rodeo. They’re proud parents to Pecos, nearly 20, who’s passionate about rodeoing.

From Childhood in Oregon to a Life of Faith

Brett’s roots trace back to a family ranch in Roseburg, Oregon. His family was deeply involved in rodeo and ran a PRCA rodeo company for over fifty years. However, financial hardships in 1985 led to bankruptcy, forcing Brett and his family to rebuild from scratch. Growing up, Brett didn’t attend church regularly but was surrounded by a strong work ethic and the values of perseverance. His journey to faith truly began at 14 when he attended Bible camp—an experience that left an indelible mark on his heart. That moment of spiritual awakening brought him peace and a sense of purpose.

The Power of Faith and Love

Brett’s relationship with his wife Keylie is a beautiful story of God's divine timing. They met at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, separated for two years, then reunited. Their connection was rooted in faith and mutual respect. He recalls their first conversation about salvation, a pivotal moment that led to Keely accepting Christ during a college rodeo. Their journey of faith has been intertwined with their rodeo life—praying for horses, healing, and trusting God's plan. Brett shares stories of miraculous healings, like prayerful healing of a beloved horse, which he believes brought glory to God.

Overcoming Life’s Challenges with Faith

Brett’s life has had its share of struggles—financial setbacks, health issues, and the pressures of rodeo life. He emphasizes the importance of listening to God, especially during tough times. For instance, when their family faced losing their business, they turned to prayer, trusting that God's plan was greater than their circumstances. One of the most profound moments was praying for their property and experiencing divine intervention. God orchestrated a miracle, providing a loan and allowing them to keep their home—an undeniable testament of His love and guidance.

The Journey of Healing and Miracles

Brett recounts a recent powerful experience of faith and healing at a Christian healing service. Feeling led by the Spirit, he participated in prayer for himself. He describes feeling warmth and peace during prayer, which helped him let go of childhood burdens and sleep better. His testimony underscores that God still heals today—whether animals, people, or situations.

Living Out Faith Daily

Despite the ups and downs, Brett and Keylie aim to live their faith authentically. Their business is a reflection of their values—integrating scripture, kindness, and prayer into everyday life. Keylie even includes Bible verses in their packaging as a way to spread His message subtly yet powerfully. Their family’s rodeo life is also a testimony to living intentionally. Pecos, their son, is carving his own path, and Brett shares pride in his responsibility and dedication. They balance rodeo, work, faith, and family—trusting that God's hand is in all of it.

A Word of Inspiration

Brett’s story reminds us that God’s love is active in every aspect of our lives—from business deals to healing to family relationships. His experiences highlight the importance of trusting God's plan, praying earnestly, and living with purpose.

A Closing Prayer

As we conclude, Brett graciously offers a heartfelt prayer: “Father, I thank You for this time with Sarah. I pray that this message brings people closer to You and Your Son. May we all walk daily in Your light, sharing Your love through our actions. Thank You for Your grace, Your mercy, and Your Son Jesus. May Your Spirit lead us always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Thank you for joining us on Faith Conversations. I pray Brett’s journey encourages you to trust God in every season of life. Remember, His plans for us are always good—He’s orchestrating miracles, even when we can’t see them right away. Stay blessed, and keep faith alive in your heart!
