This weekend, as we celebrate the 4th of July, I had the privilege of sitting down with Tim Moullet for a heartfelt faith conversation. Our discussion was rich with stories of faith, ministry, and the ways God orchestrates our lives in unexpected and beautiful ways. I’d like to share some highlights from that inspiring conversation, which I believe will encourage and uplift your faith journey.
Tim and I reflected on how our faith stories often start simply—through sharing parts of our lives and witnessing God’s work firsthand. Tim emphasized that these conversations aren’t about us, but about God’s power to transform lives. We’re just humble vessels, blessed to see what God does when we’re willing to step out in obedience.
Tim shared:
"It's all about what God can do in our lives. We’re humans just like everyone else, but His story is what matters."
Tim lives in Huntley, Montana, just east of Billings. His life is deeply connected to ranching, rodeo, and the Western culture that shapes his identity. He’s been in Montana for over 20 years, but his journey started in eastern Montana, with roots in remote ranches like Ekalaka and Miles City.
He shared:
"Montana is God's country—so beautiful, with people who respect the land and each other. It’s a special place where God’s beauty is evident. "Tim’s family has a strong rodeo background, with daughters who have excelled in high school and college rodeo, even becoming national champions. Rodeo isn’t just a sport for them; it’s a way of life and a platform for ministry.
Tim’s faith has been woven into his rodeo life, from participating in cowboy church services at rodeo events to sharing the Gospel with fellow cowboys and rodeo fans. His family’s involvement in rodeo and faith has created a legacy of ministry rooted in authentic relationships.
He reflected:
"Rodeo folks are a family. They want to trust you and hear the word. Our arena isn’t just about competition; it’s about sharing Jesus. "His story illustrates how everyday settings—like an arena or a ranch—can become places of spiritual connection and ministry when approached with obedience and love.
Tim’s faith journey began in high school through FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and Bible camps, where he found a sense of belonging and purpose. Over the years, God used mentors, pastors, and life experiences to deepen his relationship with Him.
He shared:
"When I sought the Lord, He heard me and delivered me from my fears. It’s about being a seeker, and God puts the right people in our lives at the right time." Tim emphasized the importance of being intentional—getting off the couch, seeking those spiritual connections, and recognizing that each encounter is part of God’s divine plan.
Many believers feel unqualified to share their faith, thinking they need to be perfect or ordained. Tim encouraged us all:
"You don’t have to be a preacher. Just share what Jesus has done in your life. God will supply the courage." He recounted how he was hesitant to become a rodeo announcer but stepped out in obedience, and God used that to bless others. The key is to be obedient in the small things, trusting that God will equip us.
Tim has been involved in various rodeo ministry efforts, including Bible camps, rodeo services, and youth outreach. These events create authentic opportunities for kids and adults to hear the Gospel in non-threatening environments.
He expressed excitement about:
"Our upcoming rodeo Bible camp in Huntley, where we’ll have Travis Tryon, an NFR champion, sharing his testimony. It’s powerful to see young people’s lives transformed." Tim’s passion highlights how even simple gatherings—rodeo clinics, Bible camps, or clinics in his arena—can be platforms for God to move.
Tim’s family is central to his ministry—his wife helps run the arena and events, his daughters participate, and his grandchildren are starting to ride again. Living close to family allows them to serve and grow together in faith. He shared a beautiful vision of family unity:
"It’s a blessing to have everyone together, helping each other and sharing life and faith."
Tim’s journey is a testament to how ordinary people, when obedient to God, can do extraordinary things in their communities and beyond. His story encourages us to seek God earnestly, be willing to step out in faith, and recognize that our everyday environments—whether arenas, ranches, or homes—are fertile ground for ministry.
As we close, I invite you to join me in prayer: Father, thank you for Tim’s testimony and for the many ways you work through ordinary people to accomplish your extraordinary plans. Help us to seek you with all our hearts, to be obedient in the small things, and to trust that you will supply all we need. Lord, open our eyes to the opportunities around us to share your love and truth. May we be willing vessels, guided by your Spirit, to bring hope and light into our communities. We love you and praise you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Thank you for joining this faith conversation. Remember, God’s story is alive in each of us—let’s be bold to share it wherever He leads!
