Faith Conversation with Shane and Trina Hadley: A Testimony of Resilience and Hope

In this heartwarming episode of Faith Conversation, I had the immense pleasure of speaking with the inspiring duo, Shane and Trina Hadley. Their story is one of courage, faith, and the undeniable presence of God in times of unimaginable hardship.

Meeting Shane and Trina

Shane and Trina, both passionate about rodeo and ranching, and proud survivors of daunting challenges, join me today to share their journey. Trina, a brave stage three ovarian cancer survivor, and Shane, having endured a traumatic brain injury from a steer wrestling accident, both express how their faith in God has been their anchor through challenging times.Trina shared, "I'm grateful that I'm here to speak with y'all as a survivor and I hope to be an encourager." This sentiment encapsulated the essence of their conversation—using their struggles to shed light on God’s bigger plans in our lives.

The Journey of Healing

The couple recounts Shane's traumatic experience from May 12, 2018, when he suffered a diffuse axonal brain injury. Trina emphasizes that despite grim diagnoses from medical professionals stating Shane would likely not survive, they chose to believe in the power of faith over despair.  "The paramedics were in shock... the doctor said I wouldn't make it out of the arena." However, God intervened through unexpected means. A firefighter, not even on duty, decided to attend to Shane and ensured he received the best medical care. Trina highlighted how these were moments "that only could happen by the grace of God."

The Power of Faith and Speaking Truth

One of the most profound takeaways from their talk was the importance of speaking positive declarations over our circumstances. Trina passionately expressed, “Life or death is in the tongue. And we either speak blessings or we speak cursings.” Shane added, “If you don't speak what God wants to happen, you're cutting Him off.” Together, they illustrate how speaking truth and proclaiming healing in faith can release God’s power over adverse situations. They shared how they remained in praise, documenting the positive aspects of Shane's recovery journey instead of succumbing to fear and negativity.

Overcoming Fear

Their discussion offered a vital lesson on fear—how it can paralyze us unless we actively confront it. Shane shared, “I like being the guy people turn to when they need help.” This mindset stems from his upbringing and the supportive community around him, which emphasizes giving back and being of service to others. Both Shane and Trina acknowledge how leaning on God's promises transforms fear into courage and strength. Trina remarked, “If you're not scared of death, they can't scare you.” Their outlook is a reminder that in Christ, we have hope beyond this earthly existence.

Community and Support

The Hadleys express deep gratitude for their community and the connections made along their journey. They attest to the power of having others pray in agreement with them during dark times. Trina shared how essential it was to have support from friends and fellow believers who stood firm in their faith, reinforcing their resolve to believe in God's healing power.

Embracing God's Will

As our conversation wrapped up, the Hadleys reflected on the significance of surrendering to God's will. They acknowledged that sometimes God’s plans are different from our own, yet they always lead us to greater blessings than we could imagine. “You’ve got to know if there’s a part in it that you could have done better,” Trina advised, underscoring the importance of learning and growing through our struggles.

A Prayer for Hope

In closing, Shane led a heartfelt prayer, thanking God for the chance to share their story and expressing a desire to inspire others facing challenges. His simple yet profound words echoed the essence of their journey: bringing hope and encouragement to those who might feel lost."We just pray that we would be a blessing to each other and everybody around us," he said, a sentiment that powerfully encapsulates the spirit of community that fuels their faith journey.

Final Thoughts

Shane and Trina Hadley's story is a testament to the power of faith in overcoming life's challenges. Their unwavering belief and steadfast hope serve as a beacon of light for those navigating their trials. As we reflect on their journey, may we find the strength to speak blessings over our lives, trust in God's plan, and support one another with love—a true illustration of the body of Christ in action. Thank you for joining us on this episode of Faith Conversation. Until next time, remember that God is bigger than any challenge we face, and no circumstance can steal the hope He provides.
