Faith in Action: A Heartfelt Conversation with Gage
I had the privilege of sitting down with Gage Hines—a young man full of faith, purpose, and passion for life. Our conversation was a beautiful reminder of how God's hand guides us, even from a young age, and how obedience and trust can lead to incredible blessings.
A Life Led by Faith and Purpose
Gage’s story begins in South Texas, in a small town called Dilly. From the age of 13, he felt a divine calling to fly. Unlike many who come from flying families, Gage’s journey was unique—God revealed to him at just four years old that he was meant to soar through the skies. Despite the challenges, including insurance restrictions and the typical doubts that come with youth, Gage pressed forward, trusting God's plan. His journey into aviation is inspiring. Now 19, he is an instrument-rated pilot on the brink of becoming a commercial pilot. His love for flying is only matched by his dedication to his faith and service. Gage works with Trey Johnson Ministries at Circle of Life Fellowship Church, actively helping share the Gospel and serve others.

Hearing the Voice of God
One of the most powerful themes Gage shared was how he developed his ability to discern God's voice. Raised in a faith-filled family, with strong influences from pastors and mentors, he learned early to listen carefully to what God was telling him. Gage emphasizes that hearing from God is a personal journey—each person’s relationship with Him is unique. He explained that when God speaks, it often comes with a sense of peace. Conversely, thoughts from the enemy tend to bring chaos, fear, or guilt. Gage encourages believers to take every thought captive—rebuking or binding negative thoughts—and to pray for guidance when unsure if a thought is from God or not. Patience and humility are key, especially during periods when God seems silent, because He is always working behind the scenes.
Overcoming Challenges with Faith
Gage openly discussed struggles he faced, including battling depression and self-identity issues rooted in perfectionism. His breakthrough came through encounters with God, realizing that only Jesus’s perfection could save him. His journey taught him the importance of trusting God's timing and staying anchored in His Word.He also shared how he guards his mind against distractions and idols—reminding us that social media, phones, and even our own thoughts can divert our focus from Christ. Starting each day with prayer and Scripture has been instrumental in setting his course for success—spiritually, mentally, and physically.
Love, Marriage, and God's Timing
Gage’s story of love is equally inspiring. He met his fiancée during a family vacation in Colorado. Despite the long-distance challenge, he prayed earnestly, asking God to guide their relationship. God confirmed her as his future wife during a special date, and their bond grew stronger through honesty and shared faith. He proposed to her on their three-year anniversary—a beautifully planned moment involving family, prayer, and God's timing. They plan to marry soon, trusting that God’s plan is perfect and that their union will be a testimony of His grace.

Living Out Faith Daily
Throughout our conversation, Gage emphasized the importance of starting each day with God. Whether flying, rodeoing, or just facing daily decisions, he seeks God's guidance first. He advocates for building your life on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ—comparing it to building a house on the rock, which withstands storms and challenges. He encourages believers to share their testimonies boldly, knowing that each story is unique and powerful. Our experiences can uplift, inspire, and open doors for others to encounter Christ.
A Call to Action
Gage’s life is a testament to how faith, obedience, and patience can lead to divine blessings. His story reminds us that no matter how young we are, God's plan is for us to walk in purpose. Whether in aviation, rodeo, or relationships, trusting God and seeking His voice will always lead us closer to His perfect will.
Closing Prayer
We ended our conversation with a heartfelt prayer, asking God to bless everyone listening, to give clarity of mind, and to strengthen their faith. Gage’s words echo a truth we all need to hear: God loves us unconditionally, and His plans for us are good.

Stay Encouraged If you’re feeling like your faith journey is in a dry spell or you’re uncertain about God's direction, remember Gage’s story. Keep seeking, keep praying, and trust in His perfect timing. Your breakthrough may be just around the corner.
Keep shining your light, and never be ashamed to share your testimony. God is always working, even when we can’t see it.
