In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, stories of faith and steadfast devotion serve as beacons of hope and inspiration. Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with Ronnie Christian—a man whose life exemplifies a deep commitment to faith, service, and the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
From Rodeo Chutes to Spiritual Heights
Ronnie’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Growing up in Houston, Texas, amidst a bustling background of rodeos and a family rooted in town life, he discovered his passion for rodeo at a young age. By 14, he was traveling the country, riding bulls, broncs, and roping calves—an adventurous spirit fueled by a love for the sport and a desire to chase his dreams.

Yet, amid the thrill of rodeo, Ronnie’s heart was tender and longing for something greater. At just six and a half years old, he made a heartfelt decision to follow Jesus. His faith journey took turns—he wandered into worldly temptations during college, but God’s grace and the Holy Spirit’s power continually called him back, transforming his life.
A Life of Service and Ministry
Ronnie’s ministry is woven into the fabric of rodeo culture. For over 46 years, he has been behind the bucking chutes, sharing prayers, encouragement, and the Gospel with cowboys and cowgirls. His ministry, Christian Cowboys and Friends, reaches into rodeos across the nation, offering spiritual support and leading many to Christ.
He’s also authored books like Miracles Among the Cowboys and Hang On to Your Hope, sharing stories of divine healing, miracles, and faith in action.
His message is clear: Jesus loves everyone—including the broken, addicted, and those caught in life's struggles.
His favorite scripture? Hebrews 13:8—Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Living Out Faith
He emphasizes the importance of daily quiet time with God, reading the Bible, and speaking blessings over others. He recounts how speaking the name of Jesus over horses, riders, and even in difficult situations brings peace and miraculous change. His stories of healing—whether a torn ACL healed unexpectedly or horses being restored—highlight his unwavering belief in the supernatural power of God.
He encourages believers to step out of their comfort zones, to be vulnerable, and to recognize their dependence on Christ. “When you step out,” he says, “you realize how much you need Jesus—every day.”
Faith as a Lifestyle
Throughout our conversation, one theme resonated: faith isn’t just something we do on Sundays; it’s a lifestyle—something we live out in our words, actions, and service. Ronnie’s life exemplifies this—serving in rodeo, writing, ministering, and loving others with the love of Christ. He reminds us all: God’s love is for everyone. No matter your past, your struggles, or where you are in life, Jesus’s blood washes away all sins. His message is simple yet profound: Jesus loves you—that’s the greatest truth.
A Call to Action
As I reflect on Ronnie’s story, I am inspired to ask: are we willing to step out in faith, to be bold, and to share Christ’s love in our daily lives? Whether in our workplaces, communities, or even at the rodeo, we are called to be lights in a dark world.
Let Ronnie’s life be a reminder: with God’s power, miracles happen. Souls are changed. Nations can be turned back to God. And it all begins with a simple act—believing, speaking, and living out the love of Jesus.
In Closing
If you’re seeking faith, healing, or purpose, remember—Jesus’s love is waiting for you. As Ronnie shared, “If you don’t know Jesus, just call on Him. Just speak to Him right now—He’s listening. ”May we all be inspired to let our light shine brighter and to carry the Gospel into every corner of our lives. The world needs hope—and that hope is Jesus.
