In life, we often face seasons of hardship, doubt, and spiritual warfare that threaten to shake our faith and derail our purpose. But through it all, God's unwavering love and grace remain constant, guiding us back to His path. I recently had the privilege of speaking with Hayes Johnson, whose story is a powerful testament to transformation, persistence, and trusting God's timing.

Growing Up in Faith, but Facing the Storm

Hayes was raised in a Christian household, with his father serving as a pastor. Despite the solid foundation, like many young people, he wrestled with frustration and rebellion during his teenage years. By sixteen, he turned away from God, plunging into a lifestyle filled with partying and reckless decisions. For years, he felt lost, with his relationship with the Lord strained and distant.

The Turning Point: God's Persistent Love

At nineteen, Hayes experienced a moment of deep misery—a wake-up call that led him back to God. Attending a worship night, he poured out his heart in repentance, crying out to God for joy and restoration. That night marked a new beginning. God revealed to Hayes how much He loved him, regardless of the mistakes and distance. The image of his father praying for him, with tears in his eyes, struck a chord—showing Hayes that God's love is unwavering, even when we stray.

The Journey of  Rebuilding and Reconciliation wasn't instant or easy.

Hayes emphasized that returning to a relationship with God and loved ones involved spiritual warfare, patience, and perseverance. He likened the process to a refining fire—necessary for growth. Through daily commitment, prayer, and declaring God's promises, Hayes began to see internal transformation. He learned that change starts from within and that faith is built through trials.

Obedience and Trust in God's Plan

One of the most inspiring parts of Hayes's story is his obedience to God's calling, even when the path seemed uncertain. When God prompted him to move to Florida, Hayes faced resistance and doubt. But he trusted God's plan, stepping out in faith despite fears and loneliness. His perseverance paid off—doors opened, and he found himself in a new season of purpose, working with influential leaders and building his business career.

Words of Encouragement

Hayes's message to others is simple yet profound: "You are greater than what you see." Change begins inside, often unseen by the world. Patience, faith, and speaking God's Word over your life are vital. He encourages believers to rejoice before the breakthrough and to keep their eyes on God, trusting that everything else will fall into alignment.

Final Reflection: Trusting God's Timing

Hayes's journey reminds us that God's process is gradual. It involves ups and downs, spiritual battles, and moments of doubt. But with unwavering faith and obedience, God's grace transforms us from the inside out. His story is a beacon of hope for anyone feeling lost or overwhelmed—your breakthrough is coming, and God's love is enough to carry you through.

Closing Thought:

No matter where you are in your faith journey, remember that God's love never fails. Keep pressing forward, trust His timing, and delight yourself in Him. The best is yet to come.
