Stories of Divine Power, Transformation, and Dominion

In this inspiring Faith Conversation, Cody Haynes shares his powerful journey from rodeo cowboy to fiery preacher of the Gospel.

His stories reveal how God's power, grace, and authority transformed his life, his family, and countless others. Here’s an in-depth look into his journey and the divine truths he imparts. From Rodeo Rings to Kingdom Reigns Cody begins by introducing himself as a lifelong rodeo cowboy and bull raiser from Round Mountain, Texas. For 42 years, he and his family raised professional bulls, including PBR bulls. Despite the wild, dangerous nature of their work, Cody emphasizes that they never experienced a serious accident — a fact he attributes to the spiritual dominion his grandfather understood and exercised. His grandfather, a devout man of God, would pray every Sunday over the ranch, trusting in the authority Christ had given them. Cody reflects that it wasn't about their goodness but about the power of prayer and divine authority protecting them.

The Turning Point: Encountering Jesus

Cody shares that he was raised Lutheran and believed in God, but he lacked a personal, born-again relationship. His life changed dramatically one night in 1991 when his brother broke his neck in a bull riding accident. Amidst the family’s tears and despair, Cody decided to pray — genuinely and sincerely — for his brother’s healing. This prayer was simple but profound. He asked God to heal his brother, and in that moment, Cody encountered Jesus in a new, intimate way. He recounts his prayer, where he asked God to:

  • Make him like his ancestors who read the Bible.
  • Teach him how to read.
  • Send him a wife who would love him for who he was.
  • Restore his brother to health.

That night marked the beginning of a new chapter. His prayer life blossomed, and he started seeking God earnestly. His transformation was gradual but undeniable. God began revealing His word to him, and Cody realized that true change comes through a personal encounter with Jesus.

Divine Encounters and Miracles

Cody shares stories of miraculous healings and divine interventions that have marked his walk with Christ. One vivid story involves a young bull rider, Tyler, who hit his head during a rodeo. Tyler couldn’t move, and the situation was critical. Cody reached out in faith, asking if Tyler wanted to accept Jesus. Tyler prayed, and through prayer, he experienced an immediate healing — his limbs regained sensation, and he was healed completely. Today, Tyler still rides bulls, living proof of God's power to heal.

Another powerful testimony involves a young girl who was severely injured after a fall. Cody and  prayed for her, invoking scriptures Jeremiah 33:3  "Call on Me and I will answer you and I will show you great and mighty things that you do not know" and Psalm 34:19-22 The righteous person may have many troubles,  but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones,    not one of them will be broken.  Evil will slay the wicked;  the foes of the righteous will be condemned. The Lord will rescue his servants;  no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. As they prayed, a wind of God’s presence swept through the scene, and the girl miraculously recovered, with no signs of injury.

These stories emphasize that faith and prayer, combined with the authority of Jesus’ name, can bring about real miracles.

The Authority of the Believer

A core message in Cody’s conversation is about understanding and exercising the authority Christ has given believers. His grandfather’s understanding of dominion — the divine power and authority over the earth — is passed down through Cody’s teachings. Cody explains that Christ’s death and resurrection restored the stolen dominion from the garden of Eden, giving believers delegated authority (Ischus) and power (Dunamis) to bring signs, wonders, and miracles.

He emphasizes that believers are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,  in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.), and from that position, they can bring heaven’s kingdom to earth. This authority isn’t just theoretical — it’s practical and accessible for every believer who walks in faith.

Walking in Faith and Overcoming the Enemy
Cody admits that the Christian life isn’t easy. There are sacrifices, battles, and spiritual warfare. Yet, he encourages believers to stand firm, remembering that they are more than conquerors through Christ (Romans 8:37-No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us). His own stories illustrate that when believers pray and decree with faith, they can overcome addictions, healings, and even life-threatening injuries. He recounts how, in moments of crisis, calling on the name of Jesus and praying in the Holy Spirit can turn situations around. For example, he describes praying over a girl with a head injury and how a divine wind of God’s presence healed her instantly. Such testimonies reinforce his belief that the Holy Spirit is our Helper, and that believers must rely on Him to navigate life’s challenges. Practical Wisdom for Believers

  • Cody advises believers to:
Be intimate with God through prayer and fellowship.
  • Use the powerful name of Jesus in faith.
  • Recognize the divine helper, the Holy Spirit, who teaches and guides.
  • Declare God’s Word over situations, knowing it will not return void.
  • Walk in holiness and righteousness, knowing that Jesus’ blood makes us righteous.

He also shares how to effectively lead loved ones to salvation, emphasizing love, patience, and the importance of prophesying and speaking life into their hearts. Cody’s approach is gentle yet authoritative — rooted in love, faith, and the understanding that the Word of God is alive and active.

Final Reflections

Cody’s stories reveal a life transformed by divine power. His journey from a wild rodeo cowboy to a preacher underscores the truth that no one is beyond God's reach. His unwavering faith in the authority of Jesus Christ, coupled with a life of prayer and obedience, continues to impact lives — from rodeo arenas to movie sets, and beyond.

His message is clear: believers are called to bring heaven to earth, exercise their divine authority, and walk in victory. With the Holy Spirit as our Helper, miracles are possible, and lives can be forever changed.
