Ashley Hewitt hails from Kerkhoven, Minnesota—a place close to her heart. She’s passionate about barrel racing, a sport she loves and has intertwined with her faith. With a background in food science and meat science—earning her degrees from Saint Cloud, River Falls, and Iowa State—Ashley’s expertise extends into the science of muscle biology and animal health. Yet, her true calling grew beyond her academic achievements. Ashley’s journey with Jesus began with a gentle familiarity, but it wasn’t until her late twenties—after marriage and a move to Kerkhoven—that she fully surrendered her life to Christ. She shares that she was living a good life, but it wasn’t until she attended a retreat called Cursillo that she experienced a life-changing encounter with God, leading her into deeper surrender.
The Power of Surrender and Daily Walk with Christ
Ashley candidly talks about the challenge of daily surrender. Even after committing her life to Jesus, she admits that she still struggles with self-reliance and control—trying to handle things on her own instead of trusting God fully.
