Recently, I had the privilege of sitting down with the inspiring Hali Williams—a professional breakaway roper, faithful follower of Christ, and a woman whose story radiates authenticity, obedience, and unwavering trust in God's plan.
A Journey of Questions and Surrender
Hali’s journey is anything but ordinary. Raised in the rodeo world with a father who set records in team roping, she grew up with a passion for horses and competition. But her path was shaped by more than just talent—her questions, doubts, and moments of surrender played a vital role.
From tearing her shoulder at 15 to contemplating a nursing career, Hali’s life was a whirlwind of dreams, burnout, and divine redirection. Her story highlights how God often works in mysterious ways—taking away our desires only to replace them with His perfect plan.

One of the most powerful moments in her story was when she wrestled with God's call to stay in the rodeo world instead of pursuing her initial dream of becoming a nurse. In the midst of frustration on the interstate, Hali cried out to God, questioning what He wanted from her. The response was clear: “I need you here.

Hali beautifully describes her current season as being “in a little turtle shell,” moving forward step by step, trusting that God’s guidance will lead her where she needs to go.
